Has a player ever played for his father in the NHL? I'm curious if Jordan could ever end up in Buffalo.

I gave him a 'D' I like his physical play but beyond that he needs to be better if he wants too stay in L.A.

That is essentially where I was at. Physicality is absolutely fine, it's the other things he really must work on. He and Clifford are like the same player in many regards. Only one of them will likely be kept.

Good question.

Quick research shows that it has never happened.

However, Jim Gainey was drafted by his father Bob Gainey who GMed the Dallas Stars. Darryl and Brett Sutter had a similar situation and Brett made his debut in Calgary when Darryl was GM.

Funny one here, Alexander Selivanov was married to the daughter of Phil Esposito when he GMed the Tampa Bay Lightning. Nothing like playing for your step dad right?

Internationally it is not as common either but still happens. The Hossa brothers were coached on 2006 Slovakian olympic team by their father Frantisek. And of course, Anze Kopitar played for his father during the most recent Olympics in Sochi for Slovenia.

For me I don't really see the point of having Nolan anymore. He isn't the same as he was in 2012 and Clifford is just by far the better player.

Kopitar played for his father in these last Olympics, so internationally it has happened, never in the NHL though.

As a Van fan, I have to say, I really like Nolan. Character player...Salty as hell.
